I'm working on a mix with one of the biggest rocklegends in Sweden. Last
session. After the rx7 setup he asked me several times is it the big

Using Adam A7's on spiked,
sand filled stands, it seemed like we had just acquired the next model up. I
chose to test them out on a sonically challenging song recorded at 88.2/24
and based initially around voice and acoustic, but with increasingly intense
rhythmic and textural instrumentation. It was quickly apparent that the
Recoil's opened up a new level of detail - transients were more detailed;
the stereo image was noticeably improved and it became easier to hone in and
fix the problems we had been having with the bass end. The effect wasn't
subtle: it was immediately noticed by the artists.
It might seem surprising, but my general impression of the improvement was
not unlike making the transition from RME Multiface to Fireface convertors.
To be fair, not quite as dramatic, but very much the same sense of removing
a veil to see more of the detail. A very worthwhile investment - and a great
service from Helios too! Hope this helps :-)
