Vancouver, BC - The award winning band The Boxtones got turned onto Broadway acoustic panels when searching for a solution to the acoustic issues in their new apartment studio. Currently signed with Universal Music MENA, the band members hail from Canada and Scotland but are now based in Dubai.

While working on their new album, the band members felt that they needed to build a studio at one of their homes so they could work when they pleased in order to create demos that would eventually turn into tracks for the album. Because the studio was built in an apartment building, it was necessary to control as much volume as possible to avoid disrupting their neighbours. At the same time, The Boxtones were looking for a better acoustic environment to work on their recordings.

The solution included the installation of a London 12 room kit, FlexiBooth vocal booth and a Nimbus acoustic cloud from Vancouver, Canada based company Primacoustic.

Gary Tierney, Managing Director and Owner of The Boxtones FZE: "I know and use the Primacoustic panels extensively for all kinds of applications to do with creating the music.  We installed the vocal booth on one wall, with a shelf over it, and vocal traps on the opposite wall. We then installed bass traps on the corners, and panels around the room to dampen the echo and create a much more solid audio environment. We carpeted the room, bought non reflective curtains for the one window, and installed a large curtain over the back wall separating the studio from the rest of the apartment. The results were amazing."

"I would definitely recommend Primacoustic panels. The difference with just a London room kit setup is amazing. When we build our control room, and actually turn the whole apartment into a recording studio, we will be getting more Primacoustic products for sure."

The Boxtones are in the process of recording their debut album due for release early 2016 through Universal Music MENA.
