Riga / Latvia] (July 10, 2012) – Multiple radio OB vehicles from South German Public Broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) were updated with 8-channel APEQ™ equalizers.
Acoustics inside an OB vehicle are generally limited by its construction, and the possibilities in the BR trucks were fairly exhausted. Therefore an electro-acoustical improvement was suggested to minimize acoustic differences between the vehicles in order to reach the maximum compatibility of the monitoring conditions.
In collaboration with Innoton and the sound engineers from BR, the Real Sound Lab's CONEQ™ loudspeaker measurement and equalization technology was tested in multiple OB vehicles and simultaneously, while evaluating default correction, they defined their desired target frequency response for the monitoring system. As a result it was decided to install the APEQ™ 8-channel equalizers in total of seven OB vehicles, equipped with 5.1 loudspeaker systems. During the installation BR engineers have been also trained to work with CONEQ™ system to be able to calibrate their monitoring systems independently in the future.
